What a New Year!

Christmas leave has been great, just not very restful. I got to go home to Ohio for the holiday, it's always nice to spend some time with the family. We did all our traditional Christmas stuff, like Christmas breakfast at my parents house with all my dad's family. There's a new addition there, my little cousin Colt. Yes, I know Colt is not a name I would pick but he's a great little baby and I'm going to call him Sam to overcome my humor with his given name.
So 2009 has several things I'm looking forward to. First, I'm going to be moving to Arizona at some point. That's exciting because 1) I get to leave Havelock and 2) I get to buy a new car when I get there. I've started working on another bachelor's degree in exercise science. Hopefully this one I'll actually use some day! Lastly, after this year I'll get to stay here for a couple of years. Perhaps I'll only go back to Iraq for elections. I'm fairly certain that I already have enough time there to apply for citizenship but after this next several months, I'll probably be awarded citizenship by default...kind of like common law marriage.
Anyway, I leave soon so I won't be blogging for awhile. I know, I know, it's not like I was a daily or even weekly blogger...don't judge me! I'll do my best to post from time to time and I'll check in with you all as much as I can.
I hope everyone has a great and safe 2009!
