First Week

Well, the first week of WTI 1-10, my first Weapons and Tactics Instructors' Course as an instructor, is complete. One of my C3 (Command, Control and Communications) colleagues said it best with "it's like a stateside deployment." Every morning this week, I arrived at work no later than 6:30am. This morning (Saturday) I arrived at work at 5:00am. I only got home before dark twice and on both of those days my "get home time" was not before 5:00pm. Maybe this makes me pathetic but I love it! I love working tons and tons! Maybe it's because if I'm at work all the time I have a viable excuse for being so lazy around the house. I literally didn't have time to clean, pickup, do laundry etc for the entire week. This brings me to my next point.

I need a wife! Please don't be confused, I don't want a husband. I need someone who cooks, cleans, picks up, deals with "around the house" things in general so that I don't have to because I DON'T HAVE TIME!!! Most of the guys I work with (I'm the only girl in C3) have wives and spend their days raving about how nice it is to have someone pack their lunch for them or whatever. Clearly, I need a wife.

I'm currently working in the Academics department, patiently awaiting the time when I get to go to my permanent home as the DASC division head. I really like Academics. Mostly, my job entails fixing everyone's problems (much like what I've always done in the Marine Corps), making the inventory and generics exams and making sure that generics week goes smoothly. Since generics is over, I'm basically free to go play with C3 and, most excitingly, the DASC.

Next week commons begins so the 12hrs of classes per day, for 6 straight days will be way more interesting than generics and I REALLY need the refresher. Even though we only get 1 day off per week, I can't wait for Monday to start. Flight phase is just 2 weeks away as well, which is even more exciting. Longer days, planning, traveling to the sites...I can't wait! I'm sure this will wear off quickly after my first class is over but I'm relishing it for the moment.

I'm also relishing finishing my week of in the best possible fashion - watching the AU v. WV game on ESPN. My first AU game of the season! Simply fantastic week!
