Why? Because I got to help out one of my neighbors today. I ran into her while she was cleaning out her garage and I was taking out my trash. After we had the obligatory "how was your holiday?" discussion we chatted a little while longer and then she said it, "My smoke alarm started chirping at 6:30 this morning and I can't find the battery." Now, having experienced this same thing, albeit on a little louder scale, not long ago I offered to help. Obviously, swapping the battery was easy for an expert such as myself (heh heh) and the problem was resolved pretty quickly.
So I feel better because I helped my neighbor, kept her from having to call the fire department because all her smoke detectors were going off and...because...well...because I'm not the only person in the world who got stumped by a smoke detector battery!
